Mindful Margaret River

Mindful Margaret River is focused on building greater access, knowledge, services and collaboration for mental health in the Shire of Augusta Margaret River. Funding has been secured through the Shire of Augusta Margaret River’s Community Care Package for Mindful Margaret River to support community members affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Lishman Health Foundation, auspicing body for Mindful Margaret River, has appointed Ms Pip Close as a Business and Jobs Counsellor to provide assistance to local businesses to access mentoring and support services such as information, training and resources.

The Augusta Margaret River Mental Health Community Alliance (Mindful Margaret River) has been formed in response to multiple studies completed over the last year, which have carefully examined what is needed in our community to improve mental health.

In 2019, the Lishman Health Foundation engaged the Centre for Rural and Remote Mental Health from the University of Newcastle to explore mental health and wellbeing approaches in Augusta Margaret River. Following the successful completion of two community consultation processes, a final report was produced and disseminated to the local communities.
